Leonardo’s Dinner
A unique opportunity to dine as Leonardo did!
You're invited to an evening of
historical and culinary distinction.
Leonardo da Vinci is perhaps the most celebrated vegetarian of
all time, but what he actually ate has never been seriously explored.
Distinguished scholar of Renaissance gastronomy Luigi
Ballerini has investigated the food and preparations cited in Leonardo’s
writings and, together with noted chef William Mattiello, has devised a
menu that will reconstruct a dinner Leonardo would have enjoyed five hundred
years ago.
This fundraising event for Animal Zone International
includes a multi-course vegetarian dinner, wine, and a discussion by Professor
Ballerini on Leonardo’s ethical vegetarianism and on the dishes to be served.
Musical interludes by “Leonardo and Friends.”
